Friday 27 October: Workshop 1; 10am-noon. Workshop 2; 1pm-3pm.
Come and have fun. Children will learn electronics using LittleBits, an easy-to-use, snap on electronics prototyping platform.
In the first half of the workshop, children will be introduced to the basic input and output electronics and allow to tinker with the littleBits to understand how they work. Then children will be given a choice in pairs of groups of 3 to put together a littleBits project. In the second part of the workshop, they will be introduced to an abridged version of design thinking (ideate, make, test) and asked to come up with their own invention, which then they will have to make and prototype using littleBits and crafts materials. We will end the session with a show and tell, where children have to present their invention to the group.
Suitable for children aged 8 to 15.
This is a free event but places are limited.
Location: Guildford Library Makerspace room, 3rd floor, 77 North Street, Guildford. GU1 4AL.
