Are you creative? Get involved in a fun community project!



Can you help? We're looking for local groups, organisations or individuals to get involved in some free fun science and art based workshops and events to be run in five Surrey libraries this October. 

The activities are all part of Fun Palaces, a national initiative designed to get local communities taking part in science based creative sessions. Organisations that have been involved in running sessions in the past have been local schools, museums, chess and knitting groups while workshop topics have included:- 

  • Ukele playing 

  • Electronic music making workshop 

  • A "music through time" craft session 

  • Nature themed crafts 

  • Badge and bunting making, letter writing around a suffrage exhibition 

  • Knitting 

  • Chess challenge 

  • Paper crafts - origami, paper lanterns, collage and book making 

  • Drawing with robots 

  • Rhyme time & story times 

  • Dressing up/selfie station 

  • LED badge making 

  • Giant crossword 

  • Minecraft 

  • Digital monster making 

Fun Palaces will take place this year on Saturday 6 October in Egham, Walton, Camberley, Reigate, Farnham, Oxted.
