Are you passionate about STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Maths)?
Guildford Makerspace (‘GM’) is seeking voluntary Directors from the local community to join its Governance Board and support its mission to grow talent in Guildford.
Guildford Makerspace has been running events for both adults and children since 2015. It is part of Guildford Library and has a range of low-level equipment (such microbits, raspberry pis, a 3D printer and film kit). It offers a variety of engaging digital and hobbyist activities for both children and adults. It has built up a useful number of relationships with local organisations and businesses and has a strong body of volunteers. It is open to all, and aims to encourage learning, creative innovation and entrepreneurship, in support of a diverse, tech-savvy, sustainable and skilled community.
If you have a diverse skill set, with experience, energy, enthusiasm and ideally a strong network of like-minded people, Guildford Makerspace offers the chance to help deliver creative innovation. Those who take this challenge will play a pivotal role in transforming GM, involving our community in local projects and shaping the skills landscape.
If you are in a position to offer a small amount of time and lots of expertise in support of this exciting initiative, we would be delighted to hear from you to arrange an informal discussion of the role.
