We recently hosted the BBC who loaned us two Occulus GO VR head sets to go with our three which we recently picked up. They wanted to try out some virtual reality content and so granted us licenses to try them out on the general public. We invited Makerspacers to come down and let us know what they thought and for some this would be their first experience of VR.
Congo is a series of three programmes which are filmed on 360° cameras allowing the viewer to experience new environments, people and animals in a fully immersive virtual reality world. It was an eye-opening experience for all with one person describing it as like “wearing an invisibility cloak”.
This is a the first in a series of VR happenings so please sign up to the Makerspace mailing list, keep your eye open for email invites and look at theGuildford Library and Makerspace website for more info.
